A Memorable Alumni Experience: UW-Whitewater Alumni & Friends Cruise
My Cruise Booker recently hosted the first-ever UW-Whitewater Alumni & Friends Cruise, and it quickly became one of the most memorable group experiences we’ve organized to date. Because so many members of our team attended UW-Whitewater, we felt a personal connection to the group, and it made the trip especially meaningful for us.
The Group: A Diverse Mix of Warhawks
Twenty-two Warhawks joined us aboard the Celebrity Eclipse for a week of connection, exploration, and plenty of laughs. From the very beginning, our goal wasn’t just to book cabins; it was to create an experience that felt intentional and seamless.
One thing we believe is very important is lifelong connections and bonding over a shared experience. To ensure that, we worked closely with the group to create a personalized experience, including:
- Selecting the perfect cruise itinerary offering a mix of relaxation and adventure
- Coordinating a pre-cruise hotel block
- Building a schedule of onboard gatherings for alumni to reconnect
Lifelong Connections Across Generations
One of the most special parts of the trip was the diversity of the group. Travelers ranged in age from 25 to 85, yet you would never have guessed there was a four-generation span onboard. Friendships formed quickly. Some alumni had known each other for decades, while others met for the very first time at our welcome happy hour.
Each evening, all our travelers gathered at dinner to swap stories about the day’s adventures. It was fascinating to hear how different people’s experiences were between:
- Exploring a tropical port
- Relaxing on a beach
- Visiting historical landmarks
We even asked all our alumni what their favorite parts of the cruise were, and each of them had a lot to say!

A Cruise with Something for Everyone
The Celebrity Eclipse provided something for everyone. Whether you were in the mood for Broadway-style shows, trivia, piano bar singalongs, dancing, or late-night gatherings, the energy never let up.
But beyond the entertainment, what really made the trip stand out was the shared experience. This wasn’t just a cruise; it was traveling together under the common bond of UW-Whitewater.
Behind the Scenes: Our Group Coordinator Ben
Behind the scenes, Ben, our Group Coordinator, handled every detail. From pre-trip communication and marketing support to coordinating onboard events and serving as a consistent point of contact, we ensured the experience felt organized but never rigid.
By the time we set sail, relationships had already begun forming, which made stepping onboard feel like a reunion rather than a first meeting.
The Best Moment: The “When’s the Next One?” Question
The best moment came at the end of the cruise. As guests prepared to head home, the most common question we heard was:
“When are we doing this again?”
That’s how we knew we’d done something right.
